Building Telegram Bots: My First Programming Experience

Back in 2018, my first programming project was a Telegram bot. It sounds simple, but it taught me more than any tutorial could.

The Problem

Group admins were tired of spam links flooding their chats. I wanted to build something that could detect and remove them automatically.

What I Learned

• How APIs work (request/response cycles)
• Event-driven programming
• Basic regex for pattern matching
• Deploying to a server

Starting with a real problem you care about is the best way to learn programming.

The bot ran for over a year and served thousands of users. That experience shaped my entire career as a developer.
